Write listing descriptions that add useful context

A description should explain what the listing offers and who can use it. Repeating a business name and a category does not help someone choose.

Put it into practice

Summarize the task, intended audience, and one verified differentiator. Remove unsupported superlatives and copy that merely repeats adjacent fields.

What this looks like

A data connector description can name the source system, destination, and sync direction rather than calling it the ultimate integration.

Before you move on

Does the description add information that is not already visible in the title and tags?

Write down the evidence for your answer. If you cannot point to a concrete example, revise the work before treating it as ready.

A repeatable workflow

  1. Choose a representative set of listings.
  2. Record the source and meaning of each field.
  3. Review the public result before applying changes widely.

Where Directoryz fits

Directoryz supports directory publishing, listings and custom fields, CSV imports, submission review, and workspace operations. These guides include editorial workflows you can carry out with a worksheet or your own tools. They do not imply that every audit, reminder, verification, or integration is automated by Directoryz.
